Objectives 8- I will create a self portrait. I will reflect on my personality and interests. I will include a unique element of design. I will apply my knowledge by including a stripe and dot patterns and primary colors as my elements of design. 6- I will create a work of art about my favorite food. I will reflect on my interests. I will focus on texture, color value and shape. 5- I will demonstrate my understanding of One Point Perspective. I will include a horizon line and vanishing point. 4- I will experiment with Optical Illusions and how lines can create movement 3- I will learn the fundamentals of tempera painting. I will learn the terms landscape and horizon line. Primary Colors- We watched a video on Primary colors! and then made some primary people! We built on our lesson by experimenting with watercolor mixed with oil pastel! 2nd Grade Mrs. Schluetter Second grade learning about different kinds of line! We watched a video on lines! We then made fish using all kind of line and learned how to do basic print making using Ziploc Bags and magic marker. We added to our line lesson by creating sculpture 3rd Grade Mr. Cooper Third grade is practicing the concept of symmetry. We did a partner project drawing with both sides of the brain. Students used chalk pastel in both hands to mimic their partner creating a symmetrical image. After our symmetrical unit we moved on to create 3D sculpture and introduced watercolor. 4-8 Grades four through eight are learning the framework of how to be an artist. They are learning to create a plan for their work, set up, clean up and independently prepare their supplies, artists are learning through peer interaction. There are three centers open for students to choose from - Dry materials (for drawing), Wet materials (acrylic and watercolor) and collage. |
